Director & Head of Sport Science & Exercise Physiology
Brodie is a practicing sport scientist and accredited exercise physiologist who has a strong background linking athletic performance, injury rehabilitation and chronic disease management. He has extensive experience working in both high performance sports and clinical environments. Over the past 10 years in practice he has overseen the development and progression of many top junior Australian athletes as well as working alongside some of the country’s top rehabilitation practitioners. He has also held teaching positions across a number of sport and exercise science courses at both Victoria University and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Brodie's key areas of interest are enhancing sporting performance through biomechanical screening and training, physiological testing, and chronic musculoskeletal rehabilitation and disease management. Brodie's Honours research: The effect of prior cycling on leg stiffness during running in high performance triathletes was presented at the 2012 International Society of Biomechanics in Sport conference.
As an athlete, Brodie grew up playing representative football and spent time at the Cologne Football Academy in Germany. Following a significant injury, he changed his sporting focus to triathlon and where he has had both national and international success including winning the 2017 Australian Elite Men’s Cross-triathlon championships and Xterra Saipan World Tour event.
