Exercise Physiology
Accredited exercise physiologists (AEPs) are qualified in prescribing tailored exercise programs for the prevention and management of chronic conditions, injuries or special conditions. Each individualised program is designed to address client’s goals, tools for the management of the condition or injury, exercise prescription and positive lifestyle behaviour adaptations. Our AEPs specifically work with clients experiencing conditions such as cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis and mental health conditions.
What you can expect at an Initial Consultation:
At Intune Sports and Health, we design a specific exercise program to address your condition suited to your current lifestyle. We coincide with you to get the results you desire with empowering you to adapt a positive approach to fitness.
An Initial consultation includes:
• Pre-Screening health and fitness assessment
• Education on how exercise can assist in treating/managing your condition with consideration for any limitations
• Discussion on specific exercise related goals as well as ways of improving your quality of life
• Design a tailored home/clinic based exercise program with achievable progressions and follow up plans
• Demonstrate and explain the exercises included in your program including technique and correct muscle activation
• Provide detailed reports back to your GP/specialist if needed
Follow-Up Consultation and ongoing treatment:
With the understanding clients may need one consultation, majority of clients experience full benefits and results from ongoing sessions with AEP’s. This enables you to progress safely and effectively with continual support highlighting specific areas of the program to address.
Follow-up consultations include:
• Monitoring of medical conditions, health and fitness levels through assessment as well as any modifications that need to be applied to our exercise program
• Supervision and support on technique and correct movement, minimising injury risk.
• Discussion and prescription of exercise progressions in line with your goals
• Detailed written exercise programs for home and GP/specialist if required.
Exercise Physiology funding options:
